I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. It is not about the presents, it is all about the memories we create and being with family and friends who care.
Neptune and her little sister Nepgear (a reference to the Game Gear handheld console)
The sequel to Hyperdimension Neptunia has been released in Japan, Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2. It is the sequel to the game that no one thought would ever be released in the USA, yet we got a release. Hyperdimension Neptunia fascinated many people because it was an interesting take on the console war by having each of the major game companies represented by a female character and because of its great character designs. I had the pleasure of buying the game during Anime Expo 2011, and I am one of the rare reviewers who thoroughly enjoyed the game . The game sold fairly well in Japan and a sequel was announced on April 12, 2011. As a person who enjoyed the experience of Hyperdimension Neptunia, I was intrigued by the announcement of the sequel.
In America, we pride ourselves on our individuality. This is a cultural aspect that emanates all aspects of American life, from our storytelling to the celebrities we admire. This focus on individuality also goes to the clothes that American children and teenagers wear at school, which is up to the individual to wear a set of clothes considered acceptable in school's dress code. There is a loose set of standards that is applied in school that is enforced only when these standards are grossly ignored. This difference leads to a slight culture shock for an American who is watching an anime series. In our culture individuality is sacred, so the idea for many people to have a standard school uniform is unheard of. I will examine Japanese School uniforms and explore why is it that the American school system does not have school uniforms. School uniforms were introduced in Japan in the late 19th century and the country is known for the colorful and unique uniforms that the students wea...
Rin Misumi and Ui Wakana, the two main girls of Okusama ga Seito Kaichou Okusama ga Seito Kaichou Original Manga by: Yumi Nakata Japanese name: おくさまが生徒会長! English Translation: My Wife is the Student Council President 13 Volumes (Not Licensed in North America) Original Run 2012 – 2018 What happens if one of the most beautiful and charismatic girls in the school turns out to be a childhood friend and fiancé? That equally improbable and impossible scenario is the basis for the long-running ecchi manga Okusama ga Seito Kaichou. The manga originally released in the monthly shonen anthology Monthly Comic Rex (REXコミックス), and it was such a racy series that it became the first manga in that long-running anthology to get censored magazine spreads. The manga would produce two seasons of anime and become the highest-selling manga ever for Yumi Nakata, the manga artist, and writer. This manga would have extraordinarily strong highs and strong lows. Depending on who you like among the two m...
The world of gaming has a wide variety of games, there are high production games with gorgeous graphics that play it safe to aim for the largest group possible, on the other end of the spectrum there smaller indie games that have low risk, so they tend to experiment more often. One such example is a unique flash game that was released quite a while ago, it sparked some interest because of its unique catch; the game was about slapping members of the Japanese aristocracy. While it does have a unique catch, it wins you over with its unique gameplay, catchy music and its over-the-top absurd humor and dialog. This game set of unique games is Rose and Camellia and its sequel, a game with a simple premise that wins you over with it various charms. The first game is about Reiko Tsubakikoji, a commoner woman who just married into the wealthy and powerful Tsubakikoji clan. Shortly after the marriage, her husband dies, leaving her isolated in her noble family. Determined to win over her ...
