Anime Conji 2013 Dates

Image
One of the big announcements this year was the adoption of San Diego's premiere anime convention, Anime Conji , to the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation, the nonprofit behind Project Anime and Anime Expo . At the end of the Anime Expo 2012 was the formal announcement of the adoption of Anime Conji and the convention date for Anime Conji, which was moved back to the month of April. Anime Conji 2013 will be April 12-14 at the Town and Country Resort. Anime Conji is one of my favorite conventions in Southern California and I highly recommend attending it if you have the chance. The venue is one of the best venues for cosplay photography in California and it has a wonderful team behind the convention. For those of you used to the large convention venue you will be pleasantly surprised at the intimacy and camaraderie that develops at a smaller convention. See you in Anime Conji 2013! Japan Expo News

Japan Expo is the largest anime convention in Europe, taking place at around the same time as North America's Anime Expo . Today, they have announced their convention attendance which has broken previous the previous record made last year. Japan Expo 2012 had an unique attendance of 165,000 [Source]  and had a turnstyle attendance of 208,000 over the course of four days [ source ]. In comparison, Anime Expo 2011's attendance was 125,000 turnstyle attendance and Japan's Comiket drew 550,000 turnstyle attendance. There are several reasons why Japan Expo has had explosive growth compared to the North American conventions. The first is that the North American anime convention scene is much more fragmented compared to Europe's anime convention scene. There is practically a convention (or several conventions) that happen over the course of a weekend in North America. In contrast, there are very few European anime cons compared to North America. The second reason is cultu

The largest Japan-centric event in Europe is run around the same time as America's Anime Expo , known as Japan Expo. As a large event that draws in many industry figures, Japan Expo is home to many unique announcements and events. This Friday, we saw two huge announcements that rocked the world of anime and the world of video games. The first major announcement was that Sailor Moon will get a new anime series in 2013. In the world of video games, Tales of Xillia was announced for release in the European Union and North America. As a fan of both, this news was quite exciting. Details of the new Sailor Moon is scarce, but with the announcement we do know a couple of details . The first major fact is the period of release, which is the season of Summer 2013. We also know the animation company, which is Toei Animation, the original company that made the original Sailor Moon anime. The opening song will be done by Momoiro Clover Z. Aside from that, few details are known about thi

The Famous AX Banner Anime Expo 2012 Los Angeles Convention Center June 29th, - July 2nd, 2012 On a special weekend, anime and manga fans take over the city of Los Angeles for Anime Expo, the biggest anime convention in North America. Regardless of age, sex, income, religion, country of origin, thousands of anime and manga fans migrate to Los Angeles to celebrate a common passion. For the year 2012 the convention was celebrating its 21st year at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This year is also a special year, the Summer Olympics is taking place in London. Due to it being an Olympic year, the X-Games moved the summer X-games up a month to run the same weekend as Anime Expo. With two massive events with vastly different demographics taking over a small area, this Anime Expo would be a very different experience. Here are my experiences for my ninth Anime Expo as a cosplay photographer and as convention executive. Kat, I did 4 Anime Expo 2012 shoots with her. Day Zero fi
