About the Author

Background:

I am Kris Zoleta, the person behind this great blog. I have a Bachelor of Arts in History from California State University Polytechnic, Pomona with an emphasis in Social Science. I have a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and International Business from California State University Polytechnic, Pomona. I graduated with a 4.0 cumulative GPA for the Master of Library and Information Science at San Jose State University in December 2021.

I have been a fan of Anime and Manga for a very long time, since the early '90s. I have been attending Anime Expo since 2004. Anime Expo is a convention run by the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation, a non-profit 501(c)(6) corporation. I worked in various volunteer positions in the organization from a department manager to a board director and interim Chief Financial Officer from 2007 to 2012. I worked as the department manager of the treasury for Otakon Vegas for 3 years. I worked as the Director of Cosplay Events in the Riverside Lunar Festival from 2012 to 2014. From 2014 to 2019, I was the Board Treasurer and the Parade Director of the Riverside Lunar Festival. Currently, I am on a break from con running to focus on my career and education. I want to return to running in some capacity in the future.

Outside of Anime I have a wide variety of hobbies: hiking, photography, writing, and reading. I do lots of hiking in many of the national parks I attended, having been in almost every National Park west of the Mississippi. I am a photographer with a passion for photography, I am quite proud of my work and I will continue to improve my skills. Ever since I got into the hobby of photography I have become one of the most recognized cosplay photographers on the West Coast. In my free time, I write lots of stories, many of which will never get published since many of them are just to please my crazy imagination. I read lots of books to gain more knowledge. I believe that knowledge is a never-ending process.

I am also a fan of Cosplay, Cirque du Soleil, and Japanese RPGs.
