Anime Expo 2012 Panels


This is a quick announcement, but I will be in two panels for Anime Expo 2012. Unfortunately, due to my busy schedule working on my Master's Thesis in Spring Quarter, I did not have enough time to plan and prepare for panels. I apologize in advance to many people who attend the interesting panels I run. Look forward to my panels in Pacific Media Expo 2012 and Anime Conji 2013.

This is a panel where the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation's Research and Development Committee will talk with attendees and listen to attendee suggestions on future departments, events, and ideas for the SPJA. This panel will be run by me, the R&D Chairman and R&D Board Directors Paul Wilson and Takayuki Karahashi.

For Yumi Nakata, a former hentai artist, she looked at an old hentai manga she made many years ago and remade it for a shonen crowd. That is the origin for the manga behind the eight-minute ecchi anime series Okusama ga Seito Kaichou . Before the anime came out, I was a fan of the manga when I first read it in 2013. I was quite curious as to how the anime would adapt the more risqué material from the manga. As a fan of the manga, my feelings are mixed on its anime adaptation. One of my favorite sports in the Summer Olympics is Rhythmic Gymnastics because of its beauty, grace, and skill. This sport is not a well known sport in the states since artistic gymnastics dominates the headlines. While this sport is not ubiquitous in the United States, it has heavy exposure all over the world, being part of the sport track in many primary schools all over Asia and Europe. Due to its heavy exposure, Rhythmic Gymnastics is seen in a variety of anime and manga. Pyra and Mythra join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Pyra (left) and Mythra (right) representing Xenoblade 2   The enormously popular Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has its first representative in the popular Nintendo fighter Super Smash Bros. Ultimate . On February 17, 2021, the first announcement of the Nintendo Direct was the inclusion of the female lead of Xenoblade 2 , Pyra (Homura in Japanese) and Mythra (Hikari in Japanese). Xenoblade 2 was first released on the Nintendo Switch in December 2017, and would eventually become the highest selling game in the franchise, selling over 2.1 million copies (as of the end of 2020).
